BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER

A new expression we have learnt today in class. It is very controversial, since there are differents views on it. To be honest, I absolutely believe that it is really true. What I feel about my family is stronger than what I can feel about friends or other people. That's my opinion, of course.

I liked this idiom and I'm going to incorporate it to my vocabulary bank. What do you think?

Maybe this song can help you to agree or not.

Blood may be thicker than water
But not when you're caught in love's flood
Blood may be thicker than water
But nothing's thicker than love
Nothing's thicker than love

And I don't want to go withouth sharing in this link I have found. I hope you like it. Some of the quotations are really beautiful! Others are so funny that you'll enjoy reading them.

P.S.: By the way, Sam Pickard's talk was terrific! I really liked it!

GET THE HANG OF SOMETHING AND COLLOCATIONS

It was on last Thursday's class that we learnt this useful expression. Do you remember it? I have found this video in which it is well explained what it means. I hope it helps you.

And if you want to know more about collocations (in case you feel like more), here you have a video that shows how many of them there are:

CLEFT SENTENCES

I have found this useful presentation about the recent grammar we have seen in class. I feel it shows what the teacher explained to us in class in a very schematic and summarized way with examples. I do hope it is worth to you.

Now then, all we have to do is practice and practice with our homework. That's all!

HAPPY SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY!

Despite consumerism and all those issues, there's something we can't avoid. Love is everywhere and it is for everyone who wants to share it.

AN OPTIMISTIC VIEW OF OUR COUNTRY

In today's class we have watched and listened to this video which shows us how many things we have to be proud of our country, Spain. Not everything is crisis and negativism.

What do you think? Tell me when you finish.

TOMATO, POTATO...

As our teacher says: 'Pronunciation is essential.' We are all the time insisting on pronouncing well and that reminds me a previous entry I made. You can remember it clicking on HERE.

And talking about this, we have mentioned this beautiful song:

Enjoy it!
